HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE THERE

May is here and things are moving along.  The rain just keeps coming down, but the Dogwoods don't seem to mind.  Mark on your calendars the date Saturday, May 30.  BTA&E has worked out a deal with James Overbee to put on an accoustic guitar, evening of music.  He's also talked two of his friends into joinging him-Phillip Durbin and Ian Noe.  All are great musicians.  The cost for tickets will be $5 and they will be playing from 6:30-9:00 PM.  They will have CDs available for sale.  I hope to see a lot of you there.  .  .

April  saw our first group rent Pine Crest Camp Lodge for a weekend.  A group of 12 ladies and one of the cutest 9 month old litttle girls imaginable, had a day of sunshine to enjoy the sites around the camp and a day of rain to gather around the fireplace and hold a seminar with laughter drifting out the door.  We identified a problem with the kitchen.  It seems the refrigerator, microwave and every plug in the kitchen area were on the same 20 amp circuit breaker.  So the two coffee pots and appliances routinely blew the breaker.  The problem has been resolved.

Beartrack Arts and Entertainment, working with the People Encouraging People Coalition (PEP), a non-profit group in Beattyville, with the mission of developing programs to combat a spiraling drug problem, produced a Fashion Show in the Dining Hall.  Artistic Director for the show, Cecille Booth, Executive Director of PEP, Brenda Campbell, and an army of volunteers provided a wonderful opportunity for 14 local girls to shift out of jeans, soft ball uniforms, and black and become fashion models for an afternoon.  Numerous local artists also provided art work to dress the set and facility.  It was an enjoyable and enlightening experience for the cast, staff and audience of approximately 100.
